We’re Back! - A Message From the Editor
I probably should have followed up the success of the BPA Summer Social with an immediate release of the BPA Insider. I probably should have also thanked our sponsors/vendors, keynote speaker, and attendees immediately as well. I did all of the “don’ts” of keeping the momentum going once you have it - I stopped everything completely.
Truthfully, I had no choice but to, my body and mind couldn’t continue. I was forced to take an impromptu break to recover.
You see, about a week before our event, I was ready to close everything. I was ready to shut down this newsletter, close the Black Podcasters Association, as well as cancel the event altogether. I was under a lot of pressure to meet deadlines and complete tasks/projects that we already behind.
While under that pressure, for a brief moment, I had been asking myself why am I doing all of this? And for a few minutes, I couldn’t answer that question. This is when I knew I hit my “wall” and that I needed to take a break. However, I couldn’t do it before the event.
So I mustered my last bit of energy, and with the support of friends, and the BPA community and its partners, we were able to have a wonderful event. I wanted to send out a note letting people know we would be on break, but by the end of that night, I decided to take my break.
If you missed us these past two weeks, I just wanted to say sorry for not letting you know. Im thankful to still have your continued support.
Lastly, I just wanted to share with you one of the most important lessons of many that I have learned from these past few months…
“If you don’t take a break, your body will do it for you.” - No Clue Who Said I

The BPA 2nd Annual Summer Social Was A Huge Success
It’s in the books!
The 2nd Annual Black Podcasters Association Summer Social has come and gone, but the excitement hasn’t. We are still riding high from an evening of great conversations, networking, music, food/drink, and just outright fun.

This year’s event took place at the Pitkin Lofts, located in East New York, Brooklyn. Thanks to all of the volunteers, we were able to get the venue setup and looking right! We want to give a special thank you to Ed, the owner of Pitkin Lofts for his assistance in ensuring our event was a success. It’s a great space to record your next podcast episode or content project.
We would also like to thank our sponsors and vendors for helping to make this event so special. Please make sure you check them out and support what they are doing so they can continue to help organizations like ours to move the podcast industry forward.
