If I’m having Friday nostalgia then you know why I’m here!! It’s time for another ✨Feature Friday ✨

“I like to say that I didn't choose the podcast world, it chose me.”

Podcasting has been out here choosing a lot of us and I personally believe the industry is all the more better for it…. 💅🏾 yup, I said what I said.

Summer Burnley is one of those people that got pulled into the podcasting world two years ago. She came into this space as a host and brought us the insightful podcast The Lurk Lounge® a conversational podcast where they discuss the REAL on all things legal, business, & entrepreneur related. No fluff. No fronting. No BS. They give you the struggle and success of what it's like to be on this beautiful and mostly crazy entrepreneurial journey. Why the name? Well, feel free to check out Episode 1 to learn more! ( Yes that was a plug 🔌, is that not why we’re here!! )

Summer is truly inspiring because in addition to being a podcast host she has her own law firm Burnley Law PLLC. Having your own, that’s what motivates her. She created the podcast and the work that she does in order to give WOC the space to be honest with their experiences as entrepreneurs, to share their stories so that it may help others, and to educate WOC entrepreneurs on ways to protect the businesses and brands that their building.

This is a creative art that takes up a lot of creative energy and WOC are making HUGE waves in this industry. Knowing how to build upon the impact they're having is important. Knowing how to protect their creative genius is essential in protecting their business, their brand, their money, and ultimately their mental health.

You gotta enjoy and appreciate someone who enjoys helping WOC and creatives protect their work.

In this industry, it's bold. It's impactful. They're game changers. They take risks. They're not afraid to be heard. Those are my people.

Yes we are, and sis you are our peoples too! It’s great to have someone like Summer who took her skill set and turned it into a podcast to educate and uplift the community. With so much noise in the space, it’s dope to have someone who is not only super smart, but looks like us and has our best interest at heart.

It’s the beginning of Women’s History Month 💁🏾‍♀️ and what a way to truly kick off the month by highlighting a WOC and one who strives to amplify other WOC. So Summer what lessons were learned along the way? Go ahead teach us a little something!

It is a business/brand - treat it as such. Hire help for whatever is not your zone of genius. Protect the name and the contents because people will steal your words and your sound.
