Hello….is it Feature Friday you’re looking for?✨
“I saw podcasts as a powerful medium to disseminate knowledge, share experiences, and provide support to individuals seeking guidance in their health journey.”
Ohhh another podcast created in a way to help people in their health journey…I’m seeing a theme and I love it.✨ Nia Henry is the host of Diabetes UNplugged With Nia Henry…the podcast that dares to redefine the way we approach diabetes wellness. This is a transformative space where listeners unravel the intricate threads of living with diabetes in a real, raw and truly holistic way. Diabetes is something impacts our community tremendously so to have a space thats honest and solution driven is amazing. Especially in a space like the one Nia creates where it is safe for people to speak about their journey.
“My mission is to support individuals with diabetes in nurturing their mind, body, and spirit to achieve holistic wellness. Through personalized nutrition guidance and education, I aim to empower them to take control of their health journey. By addressing the interconnectedness of their physical, mental, and emotional well-being, I strive to help them thrive and live their best lives despite the challenges of diabetes.”
Podcasting…is not just a place for talking heads to gather ‘round and talk about the latest trends. It’s a space for uplifting and informing our community and reaching folk that you might not otherwise have access to. This is why more BIPOC people need to be in this space and create valuable content for us, this is what brought Nia to podcasting. She was drawn to this industry because of its unparalleled ability to reach and connect with people on a deep, personal level.
“Podcasting offers a platform for authentic storytelling, meaningful conversations, and valuable information sharing.”
Agreed Nia 💯…agreed.
And listen…although Nia has only been in podcasting for a few months, her background in health goes much deeper. She’s founder of QueenEatz Nutrition, which focuses on instilling a mindset of importance and self-value, and empowering ourselves to make healthier choices and prioritize our well-being. She’s also a Functional Nutritional Therapy Practitioner. 💪🏾 So as I’ve said again and again you never know what may bring you into podcasting, even if it’s an extension of your day to day…don’t be afraid to dive in!
So for Diabetes Unplugged…take that dive by starting with one of her favorites episodes:
"Diabetes and Demons." it’s one of Nia’s very first episodes and has a raw honesty about her own holistic healing:
“I break down barriers and connect with my audience on a deeper level, demonstrating vulnerability and authenticity in discussing topics often shrouded in stigma. It was a transformative experience that underscored the power of storytelling and the potential for podcasts to foster empathy, understanding, and community engagement.”
Gotta love a pod that helps others but offers internal healing …❤️🩹 hey let this be your sign to work on some self care today.
And though she’s just a few months into the game…there’s still some lessons learned…
“Consistency is key: Maintaining a regular publishing schedule helps to build audience trust and engagement over time.
Quality content matters: Providing valuable, informative, and entertaining content is essential for attracting and retaining listeners.
Investing time and effort into researching topics, preparing engaging interviews, and delivering high-quality audio production elevates the overall podcast experience.
Community engagement is crucial: Building a supportive and engaged community around your podcast enhances its impact and reach.
Engaging with listeners through social media, email newsletters, live events, and online forums fosters a sense of connection and loyalty, ultimately driving growth and success.”
Listen…she has said one of my favorite phrases…Consistency is key, so I’m going to let ya’ll marinate on that one…
Until next week
I’m wishing you
